The importance of time off

I understand that our society tends to value productivity, often at the cost of our own health and happiness. Holidays are a great time to reflect on what is most important to you and how to find a happy medium between what you need to do and what you want to do.

I used to feel that I need to fill up my schedule every hour of the day, and to be honest, I didn’t know how to be still. Having nothing on my schedule seemed like I was doing something wrong, that somehow I didn’t deserve the time off.

Now I know that much can be enjoyed in the time off, however little or much that we have. To really appreciate and enjoy each moment as it is is a process. I go with the flow and can be the spontaneous type. I learn to embrace change. I learn to be more flexible. I learn to be content at where I am at now and in that moment, everything changes.

Cheers to some time off. A time to reflect and prioritize what truly matters. It starts with you. 🙂
